NBC Late Night Dispute?

Is it true if Conan O'Brien moves to FOX he can't use ANY of his old characters or skits. Like in the year 3000, masturbating bear, Pimp Bot, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog etc. Can NBC legally sue him?
