Recipe ideas for dinner party please!!!?

im having a go at a dinner party for myself and 5 of the girls. im thinking of starting with a soup,followed by a starter then a main, finished off with dessert. i have dessert sorted with a chocolate tart or chocolate cheesecake (havnt decided which one yet) and maybe panecota and berries as well. ive seen a nice recipe for parsnip soup but im still stuck with ideas for a small starter and the main. (one person is allergic to seafood) any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
