What's the best kind of car to convert to electric?
A very light weight car that has no engine and costs very little. Recently, I saw a Craigslist ad selling a Honda Accord shell for $400, apparently someone was rebuilding an engine and gave up. That's the kind of deal that you're looking for, one where someone has already taken the financial hit for you. A manual transmission car is easier cause you can just leave the transmission in there and not loose too much efficiency as well as not having to patch up the holes left in the interior by ripping out a transmission and the gears will allow you to use an electric motor with a smaller operational range such as one designed for forklifts. Pickup trucks are easy to convert cause you can just load up the cargo area with batteries rather than customize support brackets for the batteries.
