Baltimore Clification of Viruses - Polio virus replication?
According to the Baltimore Clification the Polio virus is in cl IV i.e. a + SS RNA virus. If the genetic material in this case can be used directly by the host cell as mRNA (it being positive) why doe the virus have to produce a -ve stranded RNA?
