The black/white double standard in the United States?

You are correct in saying that one statement would be tolerated and the other wouldn't. But I also understand why people don't consider them both racist. Because Black people historically weren't thought of as smart so for a black person to say "black people are smart" its there goal to uplift black people. For a white person to say white people are smart it is looked at as trying to keep others down because white people have always been on top anyway.
