Can I use dried figs in recipes that call for fresh figs only?

Lou-It shouldn't be a problem. You just need to reconstitute the dried figs with a little warm water. Then, after they've plumped up a little, gently squeeze out most of the water from the figs. You don't want to leave in too much moisture in them esp. if it's baked goods your making. Now on the contrary let's say your making a roasted pork loin with figs, then excess moisture wouldn't be a problem.
