Was anybody else disturbed by the military and nationalist propaganda littered throughout the Superbowl?

I just want to watch an entertaining sporting event being played at the highest level not be inundated with statist propaganda. For like 45 minutes before the game even started it was one flag waving, color guard marching, fighter plane demonstration of belligerent nationalism a la a gladiator fight from the Roman empire. Bush jr, Colin Powell and Condi even reared their ugly heads from the luxury box.
