Neeed help out there please?

Ok i have always wanted to be pregnant.. me and my husband had tried for almost 1 year to get pregnant.... ok....i went to the doctor on the 3rd of nov and got the shock of my life ""your pregnant"" My question is can a doctor tell if you are pregnant just by pushing on your uturs? he also used a doppler to try to hear heat beat and it was a loud swishing sound. now my tummy is hard lower. can someone out there help me please... cause I really don't want to be hurt when I get my first ultrasound thanksssss ps he didn't do blood or urin test just wnet by feeling my tummy and the doppler..... also i've been felling pregnancy symptoms for a long while now......
